Lost in the Clutter.

Growing up. Moving fast. Not having a second to just  b r e a t h e.

Before this break, I felt as though there was no time to spare. Everything was moving so quickly. Alone and confused, I didn't know what was going on. Thank the lord for this break from reality.

My winter break has been filled with refreshing people, old movies, and new beginnings. A couple of times a week, I have been treating myself to an old Indian movie. Call me a fob or whatever, but old Indian movies are so heart-warming.

While reminiscing on my childhood, I thought about so many memories. Filled with happiness, joy, and no worries in the world, I wonder how things used to be so easy. All I really worried about was what color pen I was going to do my homework in or if my brother and I were going to ride our bikes or our scooters. Growing up is a part of life but it doesn't have to happen so quickly.

My mom always tells me that "this time will never come back", and I am actually starting to understand what she means. Spend every moment you can with your family, whether it is with your grandparents, brothers, sisters, or parents. There is a point in time where some of your closest friends, stop being friends and become family. Surround yourself with the people you love.

I've been through a pretty tough time with different situations but through it all I've always become stronger because of my family and friends. I never realized how important some people are in my life. You realize a lot when you are given time alone to just reflect. All I know is that I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.

So for all the smiles, laughs, hugs, and love you all have provided for me, I thank you. I appreciate everything you all have done for me, and for that I hope to do the same one day.

I won't let you fade into darkness.

Scarves for Sweethearts

I just want to take the time to share my appreciation for all the support I've received! Even just hitting the like button on my status, literally made my heart smile. Thank you so much to everyone that has reached out to me! I love each and every one of you. I am so ready to get things going for this project!

It is finally winter break and now I literally have all the time in the world. My main goal for this organization is to get others involved. I will be collecting donations all of winter break, anything and everything is appreciated. If you are interested in helping me make the scarves, please do not hesitate to call, text, facebook chat, or contact me in anyway. I could really use all the help I can get!

I want to collaborate with I-CERV! Once I figure out the details on that, I will surely update you all! For now, donations will be greatly appreciated.

I want to end this post with a smile. If you have a minute, click this. Hope it brightens your day!

If it doesn't then this might...

Diciembre*

The month of December is a time to share recipes, gifts, love, and hugs. The winter time is one of my favorite times of the year. Although, I'd rather be in shorts and a t-shirt outside enjoying the sunshine, I do love the winter treats I get to make for my friends and family!

Winter holiday parties are my favorite, especially if they are pot luck.
Here are some of the adorable recipes I came across this weekend!

This a cute and easy way to dress up little brownies. These santa hats would be great to take to any holiday party!

If you know me, I am all about cupcakes. It would be a dream come true if I was able to compete on Cupcake Wars. These adorable cupcakes will definitely be made this winter break.

I'm usually not a fan of pretzels but I love a sweet & savory mix. This snack is just pretzels, hershey kisses, and m&ms. This quick and easy snack would be great for any occasion!

It is crazy what you can find on the internet these days. Stay posted for more recipes <3

Moving on, December is filled with many birthdays of my closest family and friends. I just want to take the time to wish Jasmine Lakhani a very happy birthday! She is one of my closest friends and she deserves the best birthday ever. I still remember the days her and I used to talk at Score! Who knew our friendship would turn into a best-friendship (corny, I know). But seriously, this year our friendship has evolved into something so beautiful. I honestly do not know what I would do without her. May her birthday be filled with love and hugs from everyone. I would go on and on about how great she is but then I wouldn't be able to surprise her at midnight! Jasmine, I love you with all my heart and get ready to celebrate your 20th birthday!

Happy Birthday A Mean Pea!

Today is Amin Porbunderwala's 19th birthday. What a last name right? I honestly think he is the only one that can pull off a name like that. If you know Amin, you already know he is one of the most hilarious people you will ever meet. Whether you need help with your car, wool, or just how to be a better person, Amin is your man. Always smiling and helping others, he has made a difference in so many of his friends' lives. He has definitely made a huge difference in my life alone. Showing me the best music before it becomes mainstream and helping me through tough times with my family and friends, he is just always there. He is my right hand man to make Scarves for Sweethearts successful. He is hands down one of the best friends I've ever had. Happy birthday Amino acid, you're honestly the best. Everyone take a second to wish Amin Porbunderwala a happy birthday, he definitely deserves it.

And Amin if you're reading this, expect a lot of the following this weekend:

 Strawberries filled with cheesecake
 Red Velvet Cupcakes

Cookies and Cream Cupcakes
and so much more.

All I'm saying is to get ready to have a delicious birthday.

Blogger N00B

I am not a blogger, but I guess I kind of am now. I recently started using Twitter and that was a huge deal for me. I feel like everyone needs an escape though. Writing is my passion. I do not intend on becoming a writer or anything of that sort. But I do have a message I would like to share with whoever has taken the time to read this.

The season of sharing and caring is right around the corner. In any culture, you should be thankful for what you are blessed with. One way I like to show gratitude is by donating old clothes or items. This year I want to take it a step further and actually make something for less fortunate children. Being the girl I am, I love crafts so Pinterest and Stumble Upon are my best friends. One day I actually came across a website that demonstrated how to make scarves out of old t-shirts. My roommate and I actually tried it out and the scarves turned out adorable! I had an idea of making more scarves and donating them to the homeless but because the scarves were made out of old t-shirts, they were not very warm. They were more of a fashion statement. I believe every young girl should have the opportunity to feel beautiful. Sometimes it takes something as little as a scarf to make you feel pretty.

So the point is, I am trying to start a small organization named Scarves for Sweethearts. Our mission would be to recycle old t-shirts and transform them into adorable scarves for girls in need and foster care. If you are interested please email me at Kashish.s.ali@gmail.com. This has always been on my bucketlist, so I can finally check that off.

I want to use this blog as an opportunity to share ideas, cute crafts, and a smile. Everyone is going through something, why not make the best of it together.
